1925年頃に生産されていた、シカゴ拠点の大手メーカー、Lyon ＆Healy社 （現在はハープ専門ブランド）のWashburnブランド。東海岸のMartin社のライバル的存在で、廉価モデルを含めたウクレレやギター、バンジョー等多くの楽器を生産しました。
本器は非常に珍しいベル型のウクレレで、マホガニー単板を用いた名器です。ネックの作り込みやボディーの意匠を見ても当時のハンドクラフトの繊細さが伝わってきます。

In the mid-twenties, they offered five styles of Mahogany ukuleles (three in Koa) and taropatches, among which the fanciest model, the 5320 Super Deluxe, was created as the equivalent of the Martin 5K, both having pearl binding around top and back of the body and soundhole, and elaborate pearl inlay on the ebony fingerboard. late in the twenties, the balalaika-shaped-shrine Model ukulele ukuleles under model 5330 and 5331 were offered; in addition, tiples (standard-body and bell-shaped model 5395) were offered. In 1928, Lyon & Healy sold all the manufacturing rights to another Chicago instrument manufacturer, J.R. Stewart Campany, after deciding to concentrate on retailing.
